Hotels in Sevilla
Sevilla is the 4th biggest city in Spain and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain both amongst Spanish and foreign visitors. The city of Sevilla has a great offer of hotels in all categories and in all parts of the city so there are plenty of options to choose from. Before you decide you can find useful information about different areas of Sevilla which might make it easier for you to decide upon a location.
The most popular area is defiantly the historic centre of Sevilla where you will find all types of hotels from small family managed hotels to big international hotel chains. The historic centre is where you will find the main attractions in Sevilla both cultural attractions and restaurants and bars. The historic centre can be a bit noisy depending on the exact location of the hotel and is in general more expensive than other parts of Sevilla.
La Triana is another very popular area of Sevilla which is located just across the river Guadalquivir about 15 minutes walk from the historic centre. This area is very well known for its many tapa restaurants (restaurants where you can try the traditional Spanish food in small portions), flamenco shows and is in general an area where you can experience the traditional Sevilla. Most hotels in this area are located away from the restaurants and bars but this area can also be a bit noisy at night.
Another popular option is the area next to the soccer stadium Sanchez Pizjuan. This is a nice residential area with some shopping malls and a few restaurants. There is not much to see here but it is only located 15-20 minutes walk from the historic centre and is quit at night. There are a number of new big hotels in this area and the price is normally good.
Apart from these options there are a number of newer hotels located in the outskirt of Sevilla. These hotels are normally offered at a very good price and the quality is defiantly good - the only problem is the distance to the centre of Sevilla and that these areas do not offer much to see or do. During daytime you can take public transportation but if you want to go out for dinner or for a drink then you will need to take a taxi which can be around 10-15Eur each direction. You should take this into consideration as the price including taxi bills might end up being higher than a similar hotel closer to the centre.
